When it comes to partnerships, Bethany Blues is known for forging strong relationships with local companies. From local farmers to local breweries, Sussex County culture is at the forefront of the Bethany Blues’ experience, and their Revelation Beer Dinner on Thursday, March 14th will be a blast in a glass with a Sussex County twist.
“Pairing with companies like Revelation, who are uniquely Sussex is always a good time,” says Nicole Giannella, Bethany Blues Catering Manager/Pastry Chef at the Lewes location. “And their beers are terrific, and together, we’ve crafted a great line up for the evening.”
Pre fixe menus are extremely popular with diners, especially during the off-season months, and so pairing courses with beers brings other element of design that patrons love. The beer dinners are less intimate than the private stash dinners that Blues does, and that is also reflected in the price and overall atmosphere. “These dinners are more laid back,” Giannella explains, “and so it’s a larger crowd and a very social atmosphere.”
The dinner accommodates 30 people and is $48 per person, without gratuity. Diners will be taken through a four course meal, including dessert, and the beverages range from a Sussex County Mule to a Downtown Donut Brown for dessert. Revelation will introduce everyone to their sour beer, a type of beer which quickly become all the rage in brewing, with a signature tangy kick, as well as a hoppy India Pale Ale (IPA).
For pairing, especially with beer dinners, it’s about staying true to Bethany Blues’ roots in satisfying barbecue. “Barbecue and beer are such a natural fit,” says Giannella, “We like appeal of straight barbecue because it’s what we do best. So there are elements of innovation, but we stick closer to home on these dinners.”
