27 Nov Bethany Beach Keeps it Local this December
There is nothing more quaint and heartwarming than Christmas in small town America. Being in a tight-knit community that celebrates the holidays together with an emphasis on family fun is what the spirit of the season is all about. In keeping with this notion, Bethany Beach is excited to roll out Winter Wonderland every Saturday throughout the month of December.
Every Saturday, the town comes alive with a host of events that are sure to bring a twinkle to your eye, and a smile to your face. Come and enjoy the open air and the holiday flair starting at 10AM on Saturdays. The schedule includes everything from an Elf on the Shelf Scavenger hunt, to decorating ugly sweater cookies at Bethany Blues of Bethany Beach, to carriage rides and Christmas caroling. There will also be the chance to meet Santa and tell him all your holiday wishes.
In addition, the town will also be doing a Shop, Dine and Save Initiative with participating businesses in the town. Shop at the participating establishments, and then bring in your receipt to Bethany Blues where you can get 10 percent off your check just for shopping locally.
“The idea is to encourage people to shop at our local businesses, and to support the town of Bethany Beach. We are really excited to be a part of that.” Says Tiffany Cordeaux, Event Coordinator for Bethany Blues. She is also looking forward to the ugly sweater cookie decorating they will be hosting at Blues. “It’s a great way to bring families in, and have a fun activity. It’s five dollars for two cookies, and it’s silly and lively—just the sort of thing we love!”
Christmas season in a beach town is simply magical. Enjoy the spirit of an old-school Christmas holiday throughout the town of Bethany Beach as you bundle up and come out to experience small town holiday vibes at their very best. When you come into town, there will be an itinerary you can pick up that will give you a complete list of the stores that are participating in the Shop, Dine, and Save as well the day’s events.
