Tasting Tuesdays In Lewes

When it comes to whiskey, Bethany Blues of Lewes has amassed quite a collection. A glance behind the bar reveals an impressive list, featuring over 120 whiskeys, over 50 of which are part of their private collection. The popular liquor is a passion for co-owner Kevin Roberts, who has toured many distilleries in search of interesting whiskey, with a focus on bourbons.

Our country has a unique relationship with bourbon in particular—a drink as American as apple pie. Bethany Blues taps this unique correlation between the American psyche and this beloved libation. All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon, and this is where our national history comes in. Bourbon has to be distilled in America to be considered “true bourbon.” Perhaps that is why bourbon and barbecue go together so beautifully; they are American incarnations that complement one another’s sensibilities.

From small batches to single barrels, and large scale distilleries, Bethany Blues has a whiskey to suit any taste. With a goal of bringing more whiskey to the people, General Manager Strohm Edwards came up with Tasting Tuesdays—a special night with discounted whiskeys from the private stash. Beginning at 4 P.M., you can come in and sample their whiskey of the day at a discounted price, while supplies last.

Past Tasting Tuesdays have featured whiskeys such as Old Rip Van Winkle, and The Gifted Horse. Tuesdays are the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge on whiskey and taste our private collection. Pairing a great whiskey, up neat or on the rocks, with their smoked fried chicken (also on special on Tuesdays) just might be the perfect way to spend an evening.

Come out of the cold and into our bar where the whiskey is flowing and the fire is roaring on Tasting Tuesdays from 4-9 P.M. For more information visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Bethany-Blues-of-Lewes or our website at www.bethanyblues.com
